The Big Giveback is an initiative that lends a helping hand to Australians in such distressing circumstances. Ten cents from the sale of every eligible product purchased at over 10,000 participating retailers, including convenience stores, is donated to charitable organizations. The seven recipient charities, including The Smith Family, help to solve a variety of social issues.
In 2020, the first year of the campaign, the donations assisted more than 700 children with their education. The donations also went to provide more than 180,000 meals and employment support for 20 young people. As of September 2021, donations had exceeded $1 million. The support of many has allowed Asahi Lifestyle Beverages to deliver the donated funds above and beyond its target to the people who need them most.
By connecting buyers of the company’s products to local charities, The Big Giveback has made a difference to the lives of people facing hardship. People have been moved by the shared, warm sense of solidarity of giving back to the community that supports them. Even the smallest actions of individuals become a major force when they come together. The Asahi Group will continue to transform that community force into hope and nurture a vibrant future for all young people.
